AS A STUDENT AND RESIDENT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, I hereby give my pledge of commitment to help my community achieve the brightest future possible. I furthermore declare my acceptance of self-responsibility and civic involvement by the following statements:

• As a citizen of Kentucky, I am responsible for the wellbeing of my community.
• The wellbeing of my community is dependant on my involvement.
• Accountability for the wellbeing of my community and community leaders rests with me and the other citizens of my community.
• The future of my community depends on continued improvement.
• And this improvement depends on the participation of citizens like me.

THEREFORE AS A STUDENT AND RESIDENT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, I pledge to be a civically minded citizen and advocate civic involvement to other people so that my community can work to make Kentucky a better place to live.
