The Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools is a long-term effort to renew and elevate civic education in the schools by encouraging changes in state, local, and national policy that implement the recommendations in the 2003 report entitled “The Civic Mission of Schools.” This report, prepared by the Carnegie Corporation and The Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement at the University of Maryland, can be downloaded from this site.

The Institute for the Study of Civic Values seeks to promote the broad recognition of American Civic values through the building of local communities and the re-examination of public policy. The site provides numerous resources to assist community leaders in measuring and heightening the civic awareness and engagement in their communities.

The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) is an organization encompassing 400 Kentucky cities and municipalities. Recognized nationwide as one of the leading organizations of it's kind, the KLC's sole purpose is to make Kentucky cities more livable. As stated on their website, the KLC "provides cities, leaders, and employees with a number of services including insurance, loss control and employee benefits, policy development and research; finance, legal and information technology services, training and education and legislative advocacy."

The NewCities Institute was established by the Kentucky League of Cities in 2001 and functions as a separate organization. Although NewCities shares many of the same values as the KLC, NewCities does not engage in advocacy efforts and only works to promote citizenship and build civic capacity. NewCities offers many programs designed to strengthen local leadership, promote citizenship, and engage citizens.

Phi Alpha Delta, the nation's largest law fraternity, offers programs that teach conflict resolution, communication, and anti-violence skills to K-12 students and provides training, technical assistance, and specialized program development for educators, attorneys, judges, community service organizations, and law enforcement officials.
